Get to know Greg
In 1957 my grandparents Carlo and Renee Santich,  purchased the house in which I now live.  Originally a summer home, they gradually converted the house into a year round residence.  I was a summer resident until 1983 and have resided in the village year round since then.

My wife, Linda, stepsons, John and Dan and I embrace the lifestyle that Asharoken has to offer. Rounding out the Letica-Mastriano household are our two dogs Kendall and Xena.We enjoy hours hanging out on the beach, swimming, boating and taking in the incredible Asharoken scenery. The icing on the cake is sharing all of this with so many of our neighbors and friends.

As a child growing up on the beach, my friends and I spent endless hours fishing, lobstering, water skiing and sailing. We learned many lifelong lessons about the ecology of our village and learned to appreciate and respect the uniqueness of Asharoken.

After completing dental school in 1983, I moved into the village year round.  Wishing to give something back to my community, I began a two decade  stint as a village volunteer.  I served as treasurer, trustee, deputy harbor master, police contract negotiator and member of the budget committee.  I began the Village recycling program and devoted myself to resolving the ongoing beach erosion caused by the power plant.

In 1989 I opened my dental practice in Northport and three years ago took over EPIC, Inc, my father's importing business.  Over the years, I have enjoyed big boat yacht racing, skiing and too many Northport 10Ks to count. From 1994-1995 I had the pleasure of serving as commodore of the Lloyd Harbor Yacht Club.

These days, Linda and I are out on the water in our small power boat. We love our Sunday mornings in Duck Island Harbor eating breakfast, solving crosswords and swimming. My interest in birds and birding has led me to find 165 species of birds in the Village and taught me the critical importance of open natural space for wildlife preservation.

I have experienced a several of the most wicked storms this village has ever seen, as well as  the sand replenishments that followed.

After living through 54 Fourth of July celebrations, freezing cold winter walks, glorious sunrises, and experiencing the simple joys of a quick dip before dinner and the super-cool moment when you find a new treasure washed up on the shore, Asharoken has become a central part of my life. There truly is no better place to live.
